Love this place. 2/3rds of the way round our walk through Velmead woods. Great beer. Good food. Dog friendly. Large garden with lots of tables spaced appropriately. Relaxed and pleasant. Staff really friendly. Visit, you will enjoy it.

Really wished we had booked a table – OMG the place was heaving and had such a brilliant Christmassy atmosphere. We had a drink at the bar and stood there looking around and saw so many delicious looking meals being brought out. They really did look terrific and we both regretted not booking up in advance. We will certainly come back here another time…

A great pub with good beer and a real kitchen! If you ask my 90-year-old mother about the Foresters, she will just say “the food is always good” and she’s right. Pubs where the food is prepared from scratch, are rare and the Foresters is a great example. That, coupled with the good beer, great service, great coffee and the country pub welcome for dogs in the bar make this a must visit pub if you are in the area.
